Kaspersky Antivirus is a powerful malware protection software that comes with an impressive array of features. The exact set of features available depends on the price plan you select that ranges from basic malware and virus protection to a complete security suite.

The user interface for Kaspersky is visually attractive and clear. Most functions are displayed as tiles on the main screen. From there you can begin fast or full scans and review the results in a a clear and concise way. You can also determine the status of your device (e.g. A green tick indicates that you are safe) and get recommendations for the next steps.

Kaspersky has a number of fantastic features that include a data leak detector system that searches the dark web to find personal information to sell (e.g. email addresses, credit card numbers and social security numbers), and a scanner for vulnerable settings that reveal configurations that make your device vulnerable. Other security tools include a keyboard on screen which blocks keyloggers from monitoring your physical movements to reveal the login details of your account and the rescue disk for disinfecting the computer that has been compromised. Kaspersky Internet Security subscriptions include the free VPN however, it’s limit is 300MB per day.

While the software does a great job of keeping your device safe but some users are concerned about the privacy practices of Kaspersky Lab. The company is owned by Russian security firm Eugene Kaspersky and has been accused of collusion with the government, including during the war in Ukraine. The controversy has damaged image of the company, even though it denies the allegations. To restore confidence, Kaspersky has started its Global Transparency Initiative to prove that it is committed to privacy and independence.
